The Moon, The Pleiades (M45), & a Favourable Lunar Libration

In the late evening of Friday the 16th of February above the S – SW horizon

a 52% lit first quarter Moon will be 1° below the Pleiades (M45)

 there is also a favourable lunar libration

that will enable views of such lunar features as the Mare Smythi & the Mare Minis

if you plan to image / observe these events remember to dress for the conditions
