Mercury & the Moon

On the morning of Thursday the 14th of September

approximately 1 hour before sunrise @ 05.45 hrs low along the NE – E horizon

there will be an opportunity to see a 1% lit waning crescent Moon

the planet Mercury will be 6.3° to the right of the Moon & shining at Mag +1.8

as sunrise will be at approx 06.45 hrs the encroaching sunlight will make this event difficult to see

as the sun will be rising into the morning sky while this event is taking place please remember your solar safety :-

DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT THE CORRECT SOLAR FILTER FITTED TO YOUR EQUIPMENT

OR SOLAR SAFETY GLASSES FOR YOUR EYES
