The Perseid meteor shower

Although this shower is active throughout the month

it will reach it’s peak on the night of Thursday the 12th of August from 20.00 hrs to 23.00 hrs

with a predicted (ZHR) Zenithal Hourly Rate of 50 meteors an hour

please note the predicted rate is the theoretical  maximum 

this event will continue into the following day

as there is no Moon in the sky it is hoped this will be a spectacular display

if you plan to observe / image this event remember to dress for the conditions
