2017 saw the discovery of the first object from another Solar system
travelling through ours. A year later, a second was found. Although their
discovery had been anticipated for decades, their properties were familiar
and surprising at the same time.

This talk will review what we know, and
what we don’t know, about the origin and nature of these messengers from
afar.
