Mercury & the Moon

Approximately 30 mins  after sunset on March the 11th low along the SW – W horizon

 a Mag -1.2 Mercury will be 7.5° below & to the right of a 2% illuminated waxing crescent Moon

with Mercury setting below the horizon @ approx 18.40 hrs there is a short window of opportunity to witness this event

if you do plan to observe / image before the Sun has set please remember your solar safety :-

DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT THE CORRECT SOLAR FILTER FITTED TO YOUR EQUIPMENT

OR SOLAR SAFETY GLASSES FOR YOUR EYES

and remember to dress for the conditions
