In the early hours of Thursday the 8th of December from approx 04.45 – 06.15 Hrs

above the W horizon the full Moon will  pass in front (occult) of the planet Mars

dependant upon your location you may not see Mars fully appear from behind the Moon

as both bodies will set below the W horizon at approx 08.00 Hrs

and the Sun will be rising above the E horizon from approx 08.00 Hrs

so the increasing pre sunrise light levels may obscure the end of the occultation

if you plan to observe this event remember to dress for the conditions
