Lunar Occultation of Mars

During the morning of Wednesday the 18th of December

from approx 09.20 hrs to 10.20 hrs above the W – NW horizon

the planet Mars will be occulted by an 89% illuminated waning gibbous Moon

as the Sun will be above the horizon

DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT THE CORRECT SOLAR FILTER FITTED TO YOUR EQUIPMENT

OR SOLAR SAFETY GLASSES FOR YOUR EYES
