on 27 July 2018, there will be a total Lunar eclipse in the London area.

Moon rise will be at 21:07 and will be near totality. The moon will reach totality at 21:21.  Eclipse will end at 22:13 to 00:28.

Also that night Mars is at opposition, but will only be 13 degrees above the horizon.   

Saturn will also be near the moon and again only 14 degrees above the horizon.  

So we invite all members to attend our observation of this celestial event.  Our member Malcolm,  has generously offered the use of his back garden for our viewing where there is a great view of the south east horizon.

So come with your binoculars, cameras ?, or telescope ? to observe our moon? and planets?.
